What was the brief

A creative foodie wanted to open a new salad bar in Leigh-on-Sea. We were on hand to help make the dream a reality.

Josh, the owner of The Salad Lab, faced the challenge of launching a new business location in Leigh on Sea with a limited budget. By collaborating with Complete Leasing and CED Fabrications, a tailored and cost-effective counter solution was implemented. The results were a high-quality, bespoke counter that met Josh’s specifications and preserved his capital.

The Salad Lab brands itself as a forward-thinking eatery, specialising in fresh and healthy salads. Josh approached us in early 2024 with an exciting opportunity. Positioned in the growing health food sector, The Salad Lab needed a functional yet stylish food preparation and eating area designed for its new location in Leigh on Sea. Josh sought a solution that wouldn’t compromise on quality while aligning with his budget.

The Challenge

Opening a new business comes with its own set of challenges, especially when it comes to operational setup.

Josh aimed to create a welcoming and efficient space for his customers, but a significant hurdle was managing costs while ensuring high-quality fixtures. Initial estimations for custom counters were daunting, and as a new business owner, preserving capital was paramount.

Josh needed a solution that was both financially viable and aligned precisely with his specifications. After initial discussions and reviewing demonstrative images, we proposed conducting a site visit to gather precise dimensions.

Our expert designer, Karl, then created a detailed design plan tailored to Josh’s vision.

The Solution

Understanding Josh’s financial concerns, we partnered with Complete Leasing to provide a leasing quotation, which offered a financially flexible solution. With some back-and-forth to ensure the financing option was viable, the leasing plan was approved. By June, we were ready to bring Josh’s vision to life.

Our solution featured a counter manufactured in our factory with involvement from CED Fabrications. This included:

  • A solid surface top and front façade for durability and aesthetics.
  • Fret cut lettering using our CNC machine, adding a distinctive branding element.
  • Vertical glass sneeze screens for hygiene and customer interaction.

What was the outcome?

The collaboration resulted in a bespoke counter that not only met but exceeded Josh’s expectations.

Key outcomes included:

  • High-quality counter construction tailored to The Salad Lab’s branding and operational needs.
  • Cost management achieved through the strategic leasing solution with Complete Leasing.
  • Enhanced customer experience with a modern and functional counter setup.

Josh was thrilled with the results, noting the seamless integration of the counter into the eatery’s design. The decision to utilise a leasing option allowed The Salad Lab to maintain its financial health while investing in the quality of the establishment.

Conclusion

The partnership between The Salad Lab, Complete Leasing, and CED Fabrications exemplifies how strategic collaborations can overcome financial constraints and deliver exceptional results. By focusing on Josh’s specific needs and leveraging industry expertise, we transformed a challenge into a thriving success.

Looking forward, The Salad Lab is well-equipped to expand its footprint with a robust foundation. Our ongoing relationship ensures that Josh can continue to access high-quality solutions without compromising on his business’s financial health.
